Municipalities: geo-information in order
Dutch municipalities are on the eve of enormous challenges in the field of internal and external information supply in general and related to geo-ICT in particular. Besides social, technological and administrative challenges, at this moment especially the legal developments are a major challenge for local governments.
Geodan's vision
These tremendous challenges the municipalities face require creative, innovating and sometimes bold solutions. Having been a pioneer since 1985 in the field of geo-ICT innovations, Geodan can adequately advise and assist Dutch municipalities in all these challenges. Based on our content-related and technical independence, we can work in close cooperation on development of the necessary new designs and infrastructures for the required (geo-)ICT solutions. Naturally, at the pace and under the direction of the municipality itself. Geodan will be prepared and able to assume its responsibility in this.
Solutions
Our approach can be summarised under the motto of ‘Geo-information in order’. This can be split up into the following four subthemes:
- Data in order
- Organisation in order
- Technology in order
- Use in order
Technology
From the available and voluminous range of technologies, secondary products and software components, eventually a working solution will have to be ‘orchestrated’. This necessary concerted action requires agreements on standards, protocols and communication between these solution components. Geodan, in close cooperation with its partners, has the correct mix of techniques that will vary from municipality to municipality. Depending on the specific challenge of a municipality, Geodan will work in cooperation with relevant technology, data and/or implementation partners whenever necessary. We can draw from an extensive list of Geodan partners.
