The 4-digit postcode dataset The Netherlands consists of a large number of map layers and attribute data. The most important map layer is the 4-digit postcode area map. The 4-digit postcode map consists of areas for which the four first characters of the postcode delivery points per area are the same.

4-digit postcode points The Netherlands

The 4-digit postcode point layer of The Netherlands is part of the 4-digit postcode data set of the Netherlands. However, the layer can be purchased also separately. The 4-digit postcode points show the middle points of the 4-digit postcode areas. The points can be supplied in different formats (GIS and database). In all formats, there is an x and y column with coordinate information in the Dutch national geodetic triangulation system (Rijksdriehoeksstelsel). Other projections are provided on request.

5-digit postcode dataset The Netherlands

The 5-digit postcode dataset The Netherlands is composed of areas whereby the five first characters per area are the same. The areas are generated automatically within the 'natural’ 4-digit postcode boundaries.

The 6-digit postcode dataset The Netherlands contains the location of all 440,000 complete postcodes of The Netherlands. On average, a postcode contains 15 to 20 addresses or ‘delivery points’. Hence, together with Great Britain, The Netherlands has one of the best detailed levels of postcodes in Europe. With the 6-digit postcode data set The Netherlands, you can make different kinds of geographical analyses with your address-based data.
