ArcIMS
Do you want to make your geographical data available at the office and/or on the internet quickly and easily? You can do so with ArcIMS. IMS means Internet Map Server and it contains software that makes available GIS data and functionality on the internet or in powerful client applications.
Open architecture
By using an open architecture, the end user can build powerful web applications. Think of for example e-commerce, the generation of dynamic route maps or making zoning plans available including planning regulations for citizens.
Complete map images
ArcIMS can be used to make complete map images available through the intranet or the internet. GIS users can combine these map images with local data or data from a server to then make new analyses. For using ArcIMS, you need a web server (for example, Microsoft IIS or Apache) and a servlet engine (for example, New Atlanta’s ServletExec). These products are not part of the package.
