Geodan Movida: indoor location
Geodan Movida supports four main ways to identify an asset and detect its location indoors
Description type of indoor location |
Hot spots
Locate tags within the reach of a location sensor. The sensor can cover areas from less than 1 m to 50 m or more. The hot spot size can be regulated with e.g. directional sensors or blob sensors.
Technology used:
- Active RFID,
- Wi-Fi,
- Ultrawideband
Chokepoints and Transit
Records the last known location based on the transit at known chokepoints. The position and number of sensors dictate the accuracy of the location information: from single room to floors or departments. When dual sensors are used Movida can detect direction of transit (such as entering or leaving an area).
Technology used:
- Active RFID,
- Wi-Fi,
- Ultrawideband
Coordinates
Signal triangulation (or multi-angulations) provides precise location information. Depending on the sensor density and technology used, the accuracy can range from few centimeters to several meters.
Technology used:
- Wi-Fi,
- Ultrawideband
Proximity (“last seen at”)
Uses the location of known objects, such as computers where users are logged, a passage at gates, to detect the current or last-known position of users.
Technology used:
- Active RFID,
- Passive RFID,
- Ultrawideband
