Vertical Mapper
Vertical Mapper is a software extension for MapInfo Professional. With this extension, among other things users can carry out grid analyses. Adequate data for being analysed or processed are for example altitude data or emission data.
What can I use Vertical Mapper for?
Vertical Mapper has a couple of analysis possibilities. The basis for the analyses in Vertical Mapper is generally a point file, in which each point has a certain value. This could be a measurement value (for example air pollution) or an altitude, but also sales figures or crime figures. The point file is converted into a continuous grid. Five different interpolation methods can be used. The grid can then be used for different types of analysis. The grid can be required, for example, to select all areas where pollution exceeds a certain threshold value or to determine the range of a mast.
Altitude data
When using altitude data, a contour map in vector format can be easily generated based on a grid with altitude data. Besides, the angles of inclination, the sight lines and altitude sections can be calculated.
Market analysis
Vertical Mapper is also apt for mapping all kinds of socio-demographic and market data. Furthermore, catchment areas and optimal places of business can be calculated.
