The 6-digit postcodemap set The Netherlands contains the location of all 440,000 complete postcodes of The Netherlands. On average, a postcode contains 15 to 20 addresses or ‘delivery points’. Hence, together with Great Britain, The Netherlands has one of the best detailed levels of postcodes in Europe. With the 6-digit postcode map The Netherlands, you can make different kinds of geographical analyses with your address-based data.
Data set content
The 6-digit postcode map of The Netherlands contains 440,000 6-digit postcode points. The points are attributed among others with streetname and municipality.
The postcode map is now enriched with a boundary map. These postcode areas consist all addresses with the same postcode. They follow the natural borders of streets, roads, railways and build-up area's. The Postcodemap consists of the following components that are also available as seperate parts:
- Postcodekaart dataset: areas, points and attributes

- Postcodekaart points: points without attributes
- Postcodekaart attributes: attributes
- Postcodepopulation: population and households
The postcode files are constantly updated. Updates are regularly available.
