For each retail outlet, the following variables are available:

• Name plus complete address of the retail outlet
• Name plus complete address and contact person of the chain organisation
• Sales floor area
• Number of cash desks
• Principal branch and branches
• Number of inhabitants in the place of residence by classes
• Number of inhabitants within a range of 2, 5 and 10 kilometres
• Inspection date professional shopper
• Name of shopping area
• Type of shopping area
• Name of district or neighbourhood
• x and y coordinates
  

The Locatus Retail Outlets file is constantly updated. Every day, Locatus employees are on the go to register modifications and new retail outlets.

Application

You can use the Locatus Retail Outlets file to map the shopping environment of a branch, to analyse your competitive position or plan the location of a new branch. The retail outlets file can be combined in your own GIS system with other map layers. We have more information available on shopping areas in The Netherlands, such as:

• 'GOAD plans': digital maps that show the location of shops in shopping areas, including different types of additional information on the shops.
• Shop catchment areas: the boundaries of the shopping areas and the catchments of the more than 2,000 Dutch shopping areas.
• The Retail Reference Set: a benchmarking of the Dutch retail sector.
