DistricterPlus
Dividing areas into districts is a complex and also a very time–consuming task in MapInfo Professional. Therefore Geodan has developed the DistricterPlus to deal with this problem quickly and precisely. In the DistricterPlus, the districts are generated based on the distance between areas and locations. Next, these districts can be adjusted in MapInfo Professional in accordance with your wishes using the standard redistrict tool.
Making districts
With the DistricterPlus, you can make different types of districts in which standard areas (for example, postcodes) are assigned to points or places of business:
- For ‘simple districts’ all areas are assigned to the nearest place of business.
- For ‘capacity districts’ areas are assigned to a place of business until reaching the specified maximum distance or until reaching the specified maximum capacity.
Both for simple and capacity districts, either the straight-line or driving distance can be determined.When using the driving distance in the DistricterPlus, you need the Drive Time Matrix.
