RouteFinderPro

RouteFinderPro is an extension for MapInfo Professional or ArcGIS. With this extension, it is possible to solve or analyse different routing-related matters.  

Road network

The basis RouteFinderPro requires, is a topologically correct road network in which one field is included with road characterisation. This characterisation is used for managing different speeds per type of road. The data can be read in directly by RouteFinderPro; possible other preparatory treatments or obligatory fields are not required. Some examples of adequate networks are EuroStreets Roadnet, EuroStreets Vector and GeoStreets Vector. These networks must be purchased separately.

Optimal routes

Using RouteFinderPro, it is possible to define the quickest or shortest route. Routing in batch modus is possible when providing a table with points of arrival and departure. Besides, it is possible to produce drive time matrices.

Catchment areas

For defining the catchment areas of for example distribution centres, the distance or drive time by road is an important piece of information. With RouteFinderPro, the travelling time or distance isochrones can be calculated. These isochrones can be used for defining catchments. This functionality can be executed manually or in batch modus.

Travelling salesman problem

The travelling salesman problem implies that for a tour of several cities, the shortest route must be identified whereby the visiting order is random. RouteFinderPro offers the possibility to calculate an optimal route through a table or on the basis of screen input to visit various locations.
