GeoCatch
Would you like to define the catchment areas around your places of business based on distances or travelling times? You can do so with GeoCatch. This extension for MapInfo Professional uses the Drive Time Matrix of The Netherlands. Using GeoCatch, you can determine catchment areas on the basis of the driving distance or on the basis of the travelling time between all 4-digit postcode areas in The Netherlands. A matrix based on the 2-digit postcode areas of Western Europe (31 countries) is also available.
Functionality
The GeoCatch wizard takes you through the following steps:
- You select the postcode(s) of the place(s) of business (this could also be an external table).
- You specify whether the catchment areas must be calculated on the basis of the travelling time or on the basis of the distance.
- You specify the number of catchment areas to be generated (1, 2 of 3).
- You specify the size of the catchment areas (distance / travelling time).
Travelling times and distances
Besides determining catchment areas, you can also use GeoCatch to quickly identify the travelling time and driving distance between two specified postcodes or between a specified postcode and a specified file containing several postcodes. The travelling times and distances will then be provided in a table.
