ESRI extensions for ArcGIS
ESRI provides a large number of extensions for a variety of applications. As they are ESRI developments, they fit in seamlessly with the standard ArcGIS software.
3D Analyst
ArcGIS 3D Analyst can be used for visualising and analysing three-dimensional data. Altitude data of vector or raster data can be created, altitude models of for example buildings can be modelled and three-dimensional data can be viewed, examined and analysed from different perspectives. At the same time, it is possible to calculate areas and volumes, prepare profiles and examine three-dimensional data based on attributes and location.
Spatial Analyst
ArcGIS Spatial Analyst contains ample modelling and analysis functions for raster and vector data. Raster data can be prepared, analysed and visualised. It is possible to make integrated raster-vector analyses and information of different map layers can be examined. The analyses also cover raster buffers and density maps based on point data and raster classification.
ArcPublisher and ArcReader
Using ArcPublisher, GIS users and data providers can publish maps and data, both locally, through the network and through the internet. The result (a PMF document) can be viewed with the free ArcReader.
Tracking Analyst
ArcGIS Tracking Analyst contains functions for reproducing and analysing spatial data with a time component. Walking and driving routes can be mapped, spatial changes of spatial events such as storms are visualised and analysed using a time slider.
Survey Analyst
With ArcGIS Survey Analyst, land surveying data can be stored in a database and measurements can be visualised. This way, land surveying data can be combined with other geographical files, the coordinates of measurement points can be defined and new locations can be calculated on the basis of measurement data.
Geostatistical Analyst
Geostatistical Analyst has just appeared on the market with ArcGIS. This extension contains advanced possibilities for spatial statistics and the generation of surfaces based on measurement points collected in the field.ArcScanArcScan can be used to convert automatically or interactively scanned raster maps into vector format.
