What is RSS?

RSS is a format for text files which simplifies the distribution of the content of websites that are updated or ‘refreshed’ frequently. Distribution is done via what is known as an ‘RSS feed’ which contains the header, an image and a brief introductory text for an article. By inputting the address of this feed (always in the form of a URL address) into a so-called ‘feed reader’, the content may be read.
